158 Household container with cover for cooked rice from Ifugao province. Since cooking takes place only once a day in the early morning, the uneaten portion is stored in this container so that it is available when more family members come in from the field and wish to eat. This is an unusually large and well preserved cooked rice basket, 41 cm square and 16 cm high, so it may have been used and reserved for special occasions to feed large groups for feasts, ceremonies, etc. (Cf. Basketry of the Luzon Cordillera, Philippines, Catalogue Number 8)
